Frequently Asked Questions
All custom cake orders must be submitted through the online form on our website: https://www.sweetaromapastry.ca/custom-cake
Using the form helps us stay organized and ensures we get all the details needed to prepare your quote accurately.
For the best chance of securing your spot, we strongly recommend ordering at least 1 week in advance (or earlier for detailed designs). We require a minimum of 3 days’ notice, but we can only take a limited number of custom cakes per day. Once we reach our daily limit, we can’t accept any more orders — even if it’s within the 3-day window.
Because your spot is officially yours once the deposit is sent. It helps us secure your order in our schedule. The deposit goes toward your total.
All of our custom cakes are priced by weight & design, which gives you the flexibility to choose any style and flavor you like.
Here’s how our pricing works:
Cake Price: • Regular sponge cakes → $16 / LB • Cakes made with cream cheese or mascarpone → $20 / LB
Packaging Fee: $5–$10 depending on the cake size.
Design Fee: Applied only after we review the design you upload on the order form. Simple designs usually have little to no fee, while detailed artwork may have a higher fee.
We separate the packaging fee because it keeps everything clear and honest. Instead of hiding that cost inside the cake price, we show it openly so you always know what you’re paying for.
It also gives you flexibility. If you bring your own box or plan to eat the cake in-store, we can simply remove the packaging fee. And if packaging prices change over time, we can adjust that amount without touching the cake price by weight — or vice versa.
In the end, what matters is the total you receive. You’re free to look at it and decide if it works for you. The separate packaging line is simply there for transparency, nothing more.
While we strive to create cakes as close as possible to your desired design, please note that we cannot guarantee an exact match due to the nature of custom cake-making. To ensure your design is as close as possible, please follow these steps:
Provide all details in the "Additional Notes" section – Be sure to mention any specific design elements, such as colors, decorations, or themes, so we can understand exactly what you're looking for.
Upload a clear and accurate reference photo – Make sure the photo you upload is the one that best represents the design you want. Double-check that it shows all the details you want on the cake.
Review the PDF sent with your estimate – After submitting your order, we’ll send a PDF with the cake details. This is your chance to confirm that everything is accurate. If anything needs to be changed or clarified, you can reply to the email.
By following these steps, we can work together to ensure your cake design is as close as possible to what you envisioned.
